Career History/Accomplishments: When he was 26 years old, Jake Sigal founded Livio Radio and signed up Pandora Radio and NPR to the startup. Livio Radio has grown since then and has added phone applications and Internet radio devices for cars. Sigal also signed DICE Electronics to bring control of Livio Radio into the car dashboard.
Prior to launching Livio, Sigal worked as a professional DJ and a product developer for Numark. He invented the original ION USB turntable, which converts vinyl records to the MP3 format, and co-invented the iDJ (an iPod-based mixing console).
He then moved to Detroit and worked as a product line manager for Delphi’s Consumer Electronics group producing XM-brand satellite radio products. After that, he took a loan from his parents and started Livio Radio in his guest bedroom. Sigal is a board member of the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) Small Business Council and sits on Ohio University’s Russ College of Engineering Board of Advisors. He has received a number of awards and recognitions for his work.
