Currently we do not plan to sell a satellite speaker.

No, currently we do not support podcasts on the Livio Radio. Our main goal was to keep the device simple with minimal features to make it fast to use with Pandora.

Pandora: How do I create a new station/Enter a new artist, etc on the Livio

You can create a new Pandora station on the Livio Radio by selecting “Create a Station” in the Pandora menu and using the knob to select the letters. You can also set up new stations on your home computer or other Pandora device and the Livio will sync with your new stations. Everything you create and rate on the Livio automatically syncs with your Pandora account on other devices.

How can I listen to stations on the radio that I have created in my Pandora account online, I don’t see any reference to this on the site, is it possible?

You get two options when you set up Pandora on your Livio Radio. One option is to set up a brand new Pandora account.

The second option is to link your existing Pandora account to your Livio radio, which will allow your Pandora stations you have created on your computer or on your mobile phone to show up on the Livio Radio.  If you are having trouble, you should check to make sure that you are using the same account on your PC that you have registered on your Livio Radio, by logging onto Pandora and signing in and then signing out verifying the correct username/password is being used and working.

Note again, you do not need to have an existing Pandora account to purchase and use the Livio radio. You can create a new Pandora account.

Where do I register my Pandora (how to I sync my Pandora account)

You can register a new account or sync your Pandora account with your Livio Radio at www.livioradio.com/pandora

I am having trouble registering or syncing to Pandora

How do I reset my Pandora account on the Livio

On the Livio there is a menu option in the Pandora menu called “Pandora Reset.”

I use Pandora online now. On the Pandora website it allows you to select a song or artist. It also allows you to MIX different stations together. Will I be able to MIX stations together from Pandora on the Livio?

On the Livio radio there is a section where your Pandora created stations appear when you link the Livio to your account, and that is where you will find the QUICK MIX station as well.  Although, you cannot edit the QUICK MIX from the Livio; that has to be done online when you are logged into your Pandora account.

What is the sound quality

Sounds pretty good. We don’t recommend putting on a house party with this radio without connecting some externals speakers. However it does the job and sounds great for the bedroom/kitchen/deck/bathroom/etc.

What Wi-Fi Wireless systems do we support? (Password)

The Livio Radio works with nearly all home/personal wireless systems and we haven’t found one where the radio hasn’t worked. It’s important to note that for offices with higher security, or for networks that require you to sign into a web browser with a password, the Livio Radio may not work. Typically these types of networks are not used in the home.

If your network has a password you will automatically be asked to enter it using the knob on the Livio Radio screen. Once you enter the password it will store in the Livio Radio so you do not have to enter it again.

Why Livio?

Do I need to keep a computer running someplace in the house to access Pandora on Livio? What is the guarantee?

No, you do not need a computer running to access Pandora on the Livio.  The only thing that needs to be running is your wireless router as well as your modem so there is an Internet connection (wireless or non-wireless).

I am considering purchasing the new Livio Radio and wanted to confirm you return policy. If I’m not happy can I get a refund?

Yes you will be able to return the radio for a full refund.  We stand behind our products 100%. We’re people too and know how much it sucks to get a bad product. You’ll be happy, we guarantee it.

Does the Livio radio support Reciva?

Yes, the Livio uses a customized Reciva portal that is accessed through the Livio Radio.  No computers are required with the Livio Radio.  In other words you do not have to access Reciva through the Internet with a computer; the Livio Radio is all you need.

Is the Livio Radio able to browse/play personal media collections?

No, the Livio Radio does not currently support streaming media connections from your home computer to the radio.  We chose not to include this feature as we feel today because we want to keep the Livio Radio as simple as possible.  In our experience “less is more” with music and we designed the Livio Radio to connect to Pandora with as few hassles as possible.

Does the Livio radio have a jack so I can play my mp3 player through it?

Yes, we include an auxiliary input on the Livio. You will need to have a 1/8” stereo cable to connect your MP3 player to the Livio.

When headphones are plugged in does the speaker shut off, does the remote and front panel control the volume for the headphones then?

Yes, when you plug headphones into the front of the Livio the speaker shuts off and the volume is then controlled with the knob located on the front of the Livio radio.

If you want to have the speaker on and use an external audio system (like a home stereo) you can connect your audio cable to the Line Output on the back of the unit and still use both the Livio speaker and your separate home stereo.

Is there an Auto Turn Off?

Pandora does log you off after a while. We don’t have a sleep timer built in but that’s a good idea for the future.

(Advanced Support) If you can connect the Livio to your wireless network but are not able to listen to any Internet radio stations:

If you experience this problem, you may have a security setting on your router that requires an advanced set up on the router and/or the livio radio.

Mac Address Filtering

Your Livio Radio has two MAC addresses. One for the wired internet connection and one for the wireless connection. The MAC address is the unique ID which your router may require to let music play through the Livio (letting the Livio access the internet). You should check your MAC filtering settings on your router and add the Livio if MAC filtering is disabled

IP Address

If your router gives out an IP address (which is needed to access the internet) automatically, you should see DHCP being ON or “Enabled” in your router settings. If DHCP is off or “disabled” you will need to manually set your IP address for the Livio Radio.

Detailed instructions are found on page 14 (advanced settings). The user guide is also online at www.livioradio.com/help

You can also phone in for help at 1-877-97-LIVIO. Please note that if you are having this issue where you 1) can see the wireless network, 2) can connect, but 3) can not listen to audio, it means there is almost always an issue with the router settings. As there are thousands of ways a wireless network can be set up, we also recommend making sure your router firmware is up to date and you may want to call the company that set up your router or the router manufacturer for support.

However, more often than not, if you remove all security settings on the router temporarily to test the Livio and it works, it will tell you for sure that you have a settings issue on your router.

I have an Apple Airport extreme base station to which I am trying to connect my Livio radio.  It finds my base station but will not accept the wep password I have set on the base station. I enter the same password as I use to connect my laptop and it says invalid password. Do you have any suggestions?

You need to enter the Hex version of the WEP password as opposed to the shorter key I use regularly to log on. This applies to WPA and WPA2 only. (not WEP)

Does the Livio radio allow for connections through a proxy server?

We don’t currently support proxies, the radio’s audio-rendering is done by Helix and the current version of Helix that the module uses doesn’t support proxies.

How do I change the Backlight settings for my Livio?

  • 1. To get access to the Backlight controls you must first start from the base radio   menu.  (hit back till you get there)
  • 2. From the base menu select settings.
  • 3. Next, scroll down to the Backlight option.
