Web Application Developer/Sysadmin

We are looking for a Web application developer with sysadmin experience to join the Livio Radio crew.  If you like listening to music all day and developing software, this is the right place for you.

Job Description & Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain backend Web sites using modern Web frameworks (Django, CakePHP, Ruby on Rails, etc).
  2. Build API’s for internal and external use with mobile applications, other embedded systems, and external Web services.
  3. Administer Linux based servers and scalable cloud instances
  4. Ensure the security and smooth operation of each instance
  5. Assist in daily business operations as necessary

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must have Linux server management experience
  • Work experience with at least one modern web framework and knowledge of others.
  • High proficiency with at least one programming language used in a modern Web framework and familiarity with Python.
  • Knowledge of networking and system security
  • Secure Socket experience (HTTPS/SSL)
  • MySQL and/or other relational database knowledge
  • Experience with an IDE and Debugging tools
  • Use of version control systems such as SVN/Git
  • Bachelors in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Software Engineering required
  • Must have 1-year corporate programming experience or equivalent outside of college classes
  • Must be a team player that can work in dynamic environment
  • Must be able to work and solve problems independently

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • Mobile development (Android and iOS)
  • Experience using open source code and LGPL rules
  • Proficiency in JAVA & C desired and/or at least one additional programming language desired
